Decided to stop in to Gary's as a last minute decision to avoid another chain restaurant on the way home from Florida to Wisconsin. It turned out to be a hidden gem as a 2 in 1 market and restaurant. All of the waitresses were very nice and our food was amazing!
My family had omelettes and biscuits and gravy which were all phenomenal. We added cheese to our hashbrowns which was a wonderful touch. The grits were simply delightful with a bit of jam.
The market next door was full of fresh produce of a wide variety. They also had a very nice selection of pickled vegetables and even some pickled fruits. A shelf full of flavored fresh honeys was also displayed.
Overall, we had a 10/10 experience and will definitely opt to stop here again when passing through! -

This is a small town gem! I got the veggie plate and they let me put as many veggies from the bar as I wanted. My husband got a chicken breast, fried corn, and cheese grits. Both came with a drink, bread and dessert. The chocolate cake was so good!! I also got a slice of watermelon. Our bill was only $18. I went to the little store and got some of the peas from the bar to cook at home plus a watermelon and okra. The sweet girl at the register even carried it out to the car for me. I love living in the south!

One of the last places you can go get REAL food not out of a can! The chicken tenders are delicious and it's apparent they aren't frozen tenders they warmed up. The vegetables are fresh and delicious. You can tell they cut and fry their squash. It's not that fried squash you buy frozen in a bag. It's the closest thing to home cooking that you'll find these days!

Stopped here for lunch on the way back from Florida to Tennessee. I had the vegetable plate with cornbread dressing, field peas, cream corn, and turnip greens. My spouse had fried chicken, broccoli, and turnip greens. She also had a small piece of lemon cake. This place is a comfortable small town buffet which has good home cooked meats and vegetables. Not fancy but good southern food. The previous bad reviews are unwarranted and I think a mistake. Most of the people inside were locals which to me is a good sign. Even though the place is on the old side it's clean inside and well maintained for a older building.
